We were having too much fun not to post this pic! I have been wanting to get a trail-a-bike for Reno for a long time. She is finally old enough and big enough. Although one of her favorite activities is to ride her own bike, this contraption as my dad calls it, always us to go on longer rides. We both give this a thumbs up!

Who WHOOOO!
I have been wanting to do a little unit on Owls with Reno since last fall. There is just something about owls that makes me think of Fall. Crazy? Maybe, but we had a great time learning about owls! Thanks to My Big Backyard subscription for all the great pictures and details about Owls.

Books on Tape
White Board
Reno really loves to practice her letter writing. The first letter she selected was "A". We are learning it sounds and learning to write it. Mommy wrote the first few a's. Then Reno took over.
Beginning Sounds
I picked up this pocket chart at Home Goods. I thought Reno would love to learn with it, I was right and I thought it would be a great way for her to start identifying beginning sounds. Right again.

Pumpkin Fun with Friends
After the Pumpking patch we had to have some fun with our pumpkins. So we had some friends over and we weighed, measured, counted the seams and cut open our pumpkins. We tried pumpkin seeds, and then painted some seeds to for an art activity.

Write and Wipe
Reno LOVES this Write and Wipe book. She is really learning to control her fingers to make some great letters!
From Tot School to PositivelyPreschool
Since Reno is a Preschooler now, I decided to redo our school room. She now has a library/listening area, alphabet letters on the floor for games and more, since she can id all her letters they are all facing out, she has a bigger selection of activities to pick from, she has a calendar we are learning from and so much more!
Reno's Back!
We have had such a slow start to our year! Good intentions gone array! We were planning on starting "school" in August. But a very special event occurred and we just decided to enjoy it! That event was Reno's daddy coming home from a 7 month deployment. September was a wash because we were in Hawaii having some much needed family time. Reno enjoyed the sand, sun and surf! So here we are to October. We started school then and have been having fun learning ever since. I have been slow to upload pictures, as I have been revamping our blog. Here is one of my favorite pictures of Reno in Hawaii.

It is officially Summertime at Reno's way. Although I am sure Reno will be learning so much this summer we are taking a break from her "school". Starting mid August we will be moving from Tot School to Positively Preschool! Yes my little Reno is no longer a tot... She is excited for her new status as preschooler too! I am looking forward this new chapter too! See you in August!

Farm Animals!
We are now moving from bugs and critters to Farm Animals. This will be exteremly FUN for Reno...she is a major animal lover. She will be reading a ton of books that we checked out from the library. I will update with a book list soon. I have planned a lot of crafts, pulled all our farm animal puzzles, and so forth! Stay tuned for more farm FUN!
Bug Puzzle
More Ladybug Stuff!
Flower Math
I got this activity from Making learning Fun. Again I copied, cut and laminated.
This one was a little difficult for Reno and we do it together to limit frustration. Since we are studying the Farm this month I will continue this activity with her.

Our First Sensory Tub!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
I have always loved this book... I loved it when I was teaching my 1st graders, and I loved it for my girls. So much so I splurged on the story telling vest and the story telling pieces for this book! Kgirl loved it~still does and so does Reno!
We read the story and then Reno placed all the pieces on the story telling vest. She needed some help to keep the story in order, but I was surprised how much she remember without my help.
